With over 550 moorings around Southport, space for new moorings is very limited in a number of harbors.  Cozy Harbor, Newagen Harbor, Pierce Cove, Townsend Gut and Deckers Cove are closed to new moorings by the decision of the Harbor Committee.

The Harbor Master identifies moorings lacking proper registration.  Anyone with an unregistered mooring is urged to contact the Harbor Master, or Ashlea at the Town Office to complete the registration process.  Failure to do will lead to the loss of the mooring (as indicated in the Harbor Ordinance).

With the adoption of the Amended Harbor Management Ordinance, any Southport Resident over the age of 70, holding a permit for an individual (not guest or rental) mooring may request the annual fee for one mooring be waived.  If you wish to utilize this waiver, CLICK HERE to download the form, or pick up a copy from the Town Office.  The applicant must resubmit the form each year they wish to have the fee waived.
