With over 550 moorings around Southport, space for new moorings is very limited in a number of harbors.  Cozy Harbor, Newagen Harbor, Pierce Cove, Townsend Gut and Deckers Cove are closed to new moorings by the decision of the Harbor Committee.

The Harbor Master identifies moorings lacking proper registration.  Anyone with an unregistered mooring is urged to check the data book at the Town Hall to confirm the location of his/her mooring and then complete the registration process.  Failure to do this will lead to the loss of the mooring (as indicated in the Harbor Ordinance.

With the adoption of the Amended Harbor Management Ordinance, any Southport Resident over 70 holding a permit for an individual (not guest or rental) mooring may request the annual fee for 1 mooring be waived.  If you wish to take advantage of this CLICK HERE to download the form that should be returned with your mooring invoice.  The form is also available at the Town Office.
