Voters for November's election who wish to vote by absentee ballot can request a ballot a number of ways:
1. Come into the office anytime after September 15th and fill out an absentee ballot request form 2. Place a telephone request directly to the Town Clerk by calling (207) 633-6311 anytime after September 15th 3. Go to the Secretary of State's Absentee Ballot Request Service web page at: (site will be active August 3, 2009) http://www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl Through this web page they can download a fillable or blank absentee ballot request form that they then mail to me. OR- 4. (and this is the new service) they can request an absentee ballot directly at this site. The Secretary of State's office will then notify me of the request and I will process the ballot.
A note: An e-mail request directly to the Town Clerk from the voter is not considered a valid request by state law. An absentee ballot request must be done by one of the above methods.
